Commercial Fire Damage 101: What do I do if there’s a fire in my restaurant?

Restaurants are no exception to this reality. In fact, nearly half a million structure fires occur in the United States during any given year. These fires result in over a whopping $10 billion of property damages and over 13,000 civilian injuries. During 2010-2014 alone, approximately 7,410 structure fires occurred in restaurant establishments in the country. According to the NFPA, the cooking equipment used in restaurants is the main cause of these reported incidents. Surprisingly, fires related to electrical distribution, lighting and heating equipment only accounted for 27 percent of these fires.
