The professionals from ServiceMaster Restoration by Simons swapped their extractors for shovels when they volunteered at The Talking Farm for a day of community service on April 13. The Howard Street Talking Farm, located in Skokie, Illinois, encourages healthy, sustainable communities through its support and cultivation of locally grown food via urban farms, urban agriculture and education.
This was the first of two service events ServiceMaster Restoration by Simons will hold this year at The Talking Farm, one of the company’s local partners. Volunteers helped build growing boxes designated for hyper-locally grown hops products that will be raised for local breweries and sold in local restaurants. It was a great experience for our volunteers, and as always, we at ServiceMaster Restoration by Simons are thankful for the opportunity to give back to the community in tangible, productive ways.
